Vermont, Binghamton, UMBC Post Strong Weeks in #AEHoops

BOSTON – Three teams -Vermont, Binghamton and UMBC- posted perfect weeks in #AEHoops last week. Those three teams currently sit atop the men’s standings as the league schedule crossed the midway point last week.

#AEHoops Notes
  • Vermont is off to a 10-0 start in #AEHoops play and has won 12 straight games overall. That win streak is the third-longest in the country behind only Auburn and Wagner.
  • The Catamounts rank 68th in the country in NET ranking behind only Iona among regional peers.
  • UVM is ranked 11th in the latest Mid Major Top 25.
  • Binghamton is winners of four of its last six games.
  • The Bearcats' seven league wins are their most since the 2009-10 season.
  • After a 1-4 start, UMBC has won five-straight #AEHoops games.
  • America East teams beat two ACC squads in non-league playUMBC trounced Pittsburgh, 87-77, on Nov. 27 while UAlbany beat Boston College, 61-57, on Dec. 13.

Fans will once again be able to watch every #AEHoops game this season regardless of where they live! The majority games will air on The AE on ESPN, either ESPN+ or ESPN3, in the United States. Games will also be available internationally on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

The men’s #AEHoops preseason poll was announced on Oct. 21.

Player of the Week
Jacob Falko, Binghamton – Jr., Guard, North East, Md.
  • Averaged 23.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals in a 2-0 week.
  • Scored a career-high 29 points in a win over Stony Brook on Wednesday.
  • This is Falko’s first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Keeshawn Mason, NJIT – Fr., Forward
  • Averaged 11.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week.
  • Scored a career-high 16 points in the win over Stony Brook on Saturday.
  • This Mason’s Rookie of the Week award this season.
