BOSTON – With just 12 days left in the regular season, the 2022 #AEPlayoffs picture is coming to life. Maine and UAlbany have clinched a home quarterfinal game while Vermont can do so with a NJIT win over UMass Lowell tonight.
Maine visits UAlbany Wednesday in another battle between two of the top-three teams in the standings. The Black Bears put their nine-game winning streak against the Great Danes’ perfect home record and top defense. Watch on ESPN+.
#AEHoops Notes
- Maine’s (12-3) win streak is tied for 10th-longest in the Division I.
- The team has now won ten or more conference games in five consecutive seasons.
- UAlbany (12-4) has won eight of ten and has its most #AEHoops wins in the Colleen Mullen era.
- The Great Danes have allowed the fewest points per game to opponents in Division I.
- They are one of six teams in the country with a 13-0 home record or better.
- Stony Brook (14-2) has eclipsed the 20-win mark for the third time in four seasons.
- The Seawolves have won 14 of 15 and can clinch at least a share of the regular-season title with a win over UMass Lowell Wednesday.
- Vermont (11-3) has its most conference wins since 2009-10 when the team finished 13-3.
- The Catamounts have won three straight and six of the last seven.
- Stony Brook became the first #AEHoops program to beat two Power-5 teams in the same season since Maine beat LSU and Clemson in 2015-16.
- The Seawolves have the best non-conference record (9-1) since the 2019-20 Seawolves started 12-1.
- The Seawolves have received votes in the AP Top-25.

Player of the Week
Emma Utterback, Vermont – Jr., Guard, Greenwood, Ind.
- Averaged 20.3 points and 4.0 assists in 3-0 week.
- Utterback scored a career-high 24 to lead the Catamounts to a win over UNH.
- Scored 20 again on Saturday and shot 51 percent on the week.
- This is her second career Player of the Week – both this season.
Rookie of the Week
Paula Gallego, Vermont – Fr., Guard, Barcelona, Spain
- Averaged 7.5 points on 70 percent shooting in 2-0 week.
- Converted on all three of her shots in Saturday’s win over NJIT.
- This is Gallego’s second Rookie of the Week honor.
