Vermont Stays Perfect in #AEHoops Play

BOSTON – In the midst of one of the most dominating seasons in conference history, Vermont continued to roll last week with two more wins. The Catamounts are sporting the longest win streak in the country and just one of four teams in the nation who remain unbeaten in league play. UVM can lock up the league's regular-season title with two wins this week.

#AEHoops Notes
  • Vermont is off to a 12-0 start in #AEHoops play and has won 14 straight games overall. That win streak is tied for the longest in the nation.
  • The Catamounts rank 68th in the country in NET ranking, the best among regional peers.(AE, CAA, Ivy, MAAC, Patriot, Ivy).
  • Vermont received a vote in the AP Top 25 Poll this week. 
  • UVM is ranked 11th in the latest Mid Major Top 25.
  • America East announced a change in #AEPlayoffs dates on Feb. 9 - Link
  • America East teams beat two ACC squads in non-league playUMBC trounced Pittsburgh, 87-77, on Nov. 27 while UAlbany beat Boston College, 61-57, on Dec. 13.

Fans will once again be able to watch every #AEHoops game this season regardless of where they live! The majority games will air on The AE on ESPN, either ESPN+ or ESPN3, in the United States. Games will also be available internationally on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

The men’s #AEHoops preseason poll was announced on Oct. 21.

2021-22 Weekly Award Winners (Feb. 14)
Player of the Week
Anthony Roberts, Stony Brook - Jr., Guard, Detroit, Mich.
  • Averaged 23.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists in a 2-1 week.
  • Had 28 points vs. UMass Lowell on Wednesday, which included the game-winning layup with 2.1 seconds remaining.
  • Roberts then scored a career-high 40 points and set a Stony Brook record with nine three-pointers in a win over Maine on Sunday.
  • This is Roberts' second career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Justin Neely, UAlbany - Fr., Forward, Miami, Fla.
  • Averaged 17.5 points & 4.5 rebounds in two games last week.
  • Scored a career-high 26 points vs. Vermont on Saturday.
  • This Neely's sixth Rookie of the Week award this season.
