BOSTON – Both Binghamton and UMBC earned All-Region honors, awarded by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Binghamton junior Tsvetelina Ilieva, #AEVB’s Player of the Year, earned an honorable mention to the East Coast All-Region Team, while Giulia Bonifacio, named to the Conference's Second team, was named the East Coast Region Freshman of Year. Both are the first in Binghamton’s volleyball program history to ever earn regional honors.
Ilieva ranked 3rd in the America East in kills per set (3.73) and 2nd in points per set (4.36). Bonifacio ranked in the Conference’s top-10 per set averages for hitting percentage (.258), kills (2.96), services aces (34 total), digs (2.51), and points (3.71).
Mia Bilusic was UMBC’s lone All-Region honoree. The sophomore, also named to the #AEVB All-Conference first team, earned an honorable mention to the All-Region team. Bilusic led the America East in kills per set (3.91), services aces (44), and points per set (4.65).
