BOSTON – Vermont stretched its win streak to five with a pair of victories while Binghamton finished the weekend with a victory as the two programs are the first in the conference to reach five victories.
Looking Back
- Vermont stretched its win streak to four with a game-winning three from Catherine Gilwee with just 1.2 seconds left in regulation and then dispatched Marist 81-60 at home.
- Maine has faced one of the toughest mid-major schedules in the nation and went 0-3 this past week, but only trailed #23 Gonzaga by one after the first quarter and Princeton by one at the half.
- Binghamton finished off its week with an impressive 77-72 victory over Fairfield to improve to 5-4 overall.
The Week Ahead
- There are 19 women’s basketball contests this week.
- Binghamton plays three times this week, facing Siena, Navy and St. Bonaventure.
- Vermont puts its win streak on the line against St. Francis (PA) and Duquesne this week.
- Wednesday features a week-high five teams in action, with Binghamton, UMass Lowell and NJIT all playing at home.
- UAlbany plays five straight road contests in December, highlighted with trips to Dartmouth and Boston College this week.
- Entering this week of action, UVM’s Catherine Gilwee is ranked sixth in the nation with 28 three-point field goals, while teammate Emma Utterback is 16 in assists with 50.

Player of the Week
Catherine Gilwee, Vermont – So., Guard, Shelburne, Vt.
- Averaged 34.5 minutes per game while putting together 19.0 points, 3.5 assists, 1.0 rebound and 0.5 steals per game in a pair of wins last week.
- Totaled 18 points, including the game-winning three with just 1.2 seconds left against Dartmouth. Added three assists and two rebounds.
- Set a new career-high with 20 points, going 6-for-7 from downtown, along with four assists in a win over Marish.
- This marks the second straight week an UVM Catamount has won Women’s #AEHoops Player of the Week honors.
Rookie of the Week
Ella Wanzer, Binghamton – R-Fr., Guard, Buffalo, N.Y.
- Averaged 13.0 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists this past week while making 8-of-15 threes.
- Scored a career-high 20 points, with three assists and two rebounds on Dec. 3 against a Fairfield team that made the NCAA Tournament last year.
- This is Wanzer’s second #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor this season.
