BOSTON, Mass. – No. 8 Vermont and No. 22 New Hampshire both advanced to the NCAA Second Round on Thursday evening. The Catamounts escaped with a 3-2 double overtime victory and the Wildcats earned a 2-1 win in a pair of hard-fought contests.
UVM and Quinnipiac were even 1-1 at the half and each scored over a two-minute span late in the second half to go into overtime knotted 2-2. Both teams were held scoreless in the first overtime, but Alex Nagy scored with just 1:28 left in the second OT to lead UVM to its first NCAA victory since 2016.

Eli Goldman gave UNH a 1-0 lead just 3:08 into their contest and another goal five minutes provided a 2-1 advantage. Seton Hall did score in the 12
th minute but wasn’t unable to break down the Wildcat defense again as UNH won an NCAA Tournament game for the second straight year.
This marks the first time since 2017 that two America East programs won NCAA Tournament games in the same year.
Both teams will head on the road this Sunday in the NCAA Second Round. UNH plays at No. 10 seed Florida International on Sunday at 6 p.m., while UVM will face No. 11 seed SMU at 8 p.m. Both contests will be broadcast on ESPN+.
