New Hampshire & Vermont Earn NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship Bids

BOSTON, Mass. – For the fourth time in the last seven years and the ninth time overall, multiple #AEMSOC teams are headed to the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship. League champion New Hampshire and Vermont were both selected to host NCAA First Round games on November 17.
 
UNH (14-4) will host Seton Hall on Thursday at 6 p.m. The Pirates earned an at-large bid with its 7-3-7 record and 4-1-4 mark in Big East action. Vermont (13-3-2) will welcome Quinnipiac, who won the MAAC with a 13-4-3 overall record, for a 7 p.m. contest.

Need to Know
  • The America East is one of seven conferences with at least two programs hosting NCAA First or Second Round games in 2022.
  • This is the third time in the last seven seasons multiple America East teams have earned home tournament games.
  • This is UNH’s sixth consecutive NCAA appearance and seventh overall. In 2021 the team reached the Round of 16 following a 4-1 win over North Carolina.
  • The Wildcats have won 12 of their last 13 games, highlighted by their fourth conference championship last weekend.
  • UVM is making its second straight NCAA appearance and its fourth since 2015. In 2021, the team fell at home to Villanova in the First Round.
  • The Catamounts face a Quinnipiac team who beat them 2-0 earlier this season, despite UVM owning a 20-5 shot advantage in the contest.
  • The winner of UNH/Seton Hall faces No. 10 Florida International, while the winner of UVM/Quinnipiac travels to battle No. 11 SMU.
