BOSTON – The 2022-23 college basketball season is underway and several America East men’s basketball teams are off to strong starts.
Looking Back
- America East men’s basketball teams posted 12 wins on opening with eight programs earning at least one victory.
- Binghamton, league newcomer Bryant and New Hampshire are all off to 2-0 starts.
- #AEHoops squads went 3-0 against Ivy League foes with Vermont downing Brown, Binghamton defeating Columbia and Bryant handling Dartmouth.
- Aaron Deloney scored a career-high 32 points on 11-of-14 shooting in Vermont’s win over Brown on Nov. 7.
- Bryant’s Sherif Gross-Bullock scored a career-best 27 points to lead to Bulldogs to a win at Dartmouth on Friday.
- UNH cruised to an 83-71 victory over Fairfield on Friday as it shot 50 percent from the floor overall and 53 percent from three-point land. Kyree Brown led the way with 25 points for the Wildcats.
The Week Ahead
- Nineteen more games take place this week.
- Vermont’s tough season-opening stretch continues with games at USC and MAAC favorite Iona.
- Maine plays at Boston College on ACC Network at 6 p.m. on Monday.
- Binghamton plays at Maryland on Big Ten Network on Tuesday.

Player of the Week
Sherif Gross-Bullock, Bryant – Sr., Guard, Washington, D.C.
- Averaged 24.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals in a 2-0 week for Bryant.
- Shot 56 percent from the floor (15-of-27).
- Scored a career-high 27 points, including 17 in the second half, in the Bulldogs’ win over Dartmouth on Friday.
- This is Gross-Bullock’s first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Jonathan Beagle, UAlbany – Fr., Forward, Hudson Falls, N.Y.
- Contributed 8.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game last week, starting all three UAlbany contests.
- Nearly had a double-double in his collegiate debut, scoring nine points and grabbing nine boards at Towson on Nov. 7.
- This is Beagle’s first career #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor.
