#AEMSOC Week 6: UAlbany, UNH & Vermont Remain Undefeated

BOSTON – No. 16 Vermont posted a third straight shutout while New Hampshire and UAlbany also earned conference wins as each of the three teams improved to 2-0 in America East action on Saturday.
 
The Catamounts put their seven-game win streak on the line when they host Bryant this Saturday, while the Wildcats look to stary perfect when they travel to NJIT, who has yet to give up a goal in two conference contests thus far. Binghamton hosts UAlbany, while UMBC looks for its first win against UMass Lowell to round out the slate.

Offensive Player of the Week

Max Murray, Vermont – Jr., Midfielder, Kennebunkport, Maine
  • Finished with two goals in a 4-0 win over UMass Lowell.
  • Recorded six shots total and now leads the America East with six goals.
  • Murray earned his third straight #AEMSOC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Mats Roorda, Binghamton – Sr., Goalkeeper, Groningen, Holland
  • Went 1-0-1 and didn’t allow a goal two contests while making five saves.
  • Played the first 70 minutes against Hartford, making two saves without allowing a goal.
  • Posted three saves in 90 minutes to earn a 0-0 draw with NJIT.
 
Rookie of the Week
Andrea Campoli, NJIT – Fr., Defender, Rome, Italy
  • Played all 90 minutes on defense in a scoreless draw against Binghamton.
  • Helped limit the Binghamton to just four shots on goal.
  • This is Campoli’s first career #AEMSOC Rookie of the Week honor.

America East is one of the best men’s soccer conferences in the country. Four teams have reached the third round of the NCAA tournament since 2014, including UMBC getting all the way to the College Cup in 2014. The conference has received multiple bids to the NCAA tournament in three of last seven seasons, including in 2021 when both UNH and league champion Vermont received bids.

Fans will once again be able to watch nearly every #AEMSOC contest this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV.
