BOSTON – Bryant earned a pair of conference victories over the weekend and have won five of six overall, while UMBC won its seventh straight match with a hard-fought road contest against UNH.
UMBC hosts NJIT and second place Binghamton this coming weekend. Bryant, who is tied with the Bearcats at 4-2 in conference play, travel to face the Wildcats and remain tied with Binghamton.
The preseason poll was announced on August 10.

- Led team to 3-0 record with 37 kills and 18 total blocks while hitting .389.
- Hit .607 with 18 kills and eight blocks in a four-set win over UAlbany.
- Recorded seven kills and six blocks in a sweep of NJIT.
Setter of the Week
Mia Cergol, Bryant – Sr., Setter, East Northport, N.Y.
- Averaged 12.7 assists per set in a pair of conference wins and totaled 133 assists in a 3-0 week.
- Posted 51 assists with nine digs in a four-set win over UAlbany.
- Registered 38 assists and eight digs in a sweep of NJIT.
Defensive Specialist of the Week
Charlotte Macken, UAlbany – Sr., Clifton Park, N.Y.
- Averaged 4.11 digs per set with 13 total assists in a 1-2 week.
- Had 14 digs and four aces in a five-set win over Binghamton.
- Posted 23 digs and six assists in a four-set loss to Bryant.
Rookie of the Week
Anna Myhal, UAlbany – Fr., Outside, Poltava, Ukraine
- Hit .197 for the week with 51 kills, 16 digs and four blocks over three matches.
- Had 20 kills and hit .371 with six digs in a five-set win over Binghamton.
- Recorded 16 kills and four digs in a four-set loss to Bryant.
