Scott, Stony Brook Stretch Win Streak to Eight

BOSTON – Six teams have winning records in #AEHoops play, three of which won two games last week.  
 
#AEHoops Notes
  • Stony Brook (8-1) has won eight consecutive games since dropping the conference opener.
  • The Seawolves’ eight-game win streak is tied for 10th longest among active streaks in DI.
  • UAlbany (6-2) has won 10 of 12 after completing the season sweep of UMass Lowell and NJIT last week.
  • The Great Danes and Seawolves are two of nine teams in the country with home records of 10-0 or better.
  • Maine (5-3) has won three of the last four after completing the season sweep of UNH and Vermont.
  • UAlbany’s defense is allowing just 48.7 points per game, which ranks second in the country.
  • Stony Brook became the first #AEHoops program to beat two Power-5 teams in the same season since Maine beat LSU and Clemson in 2015-16.
  • The Seawolves have the best non-conference record (9-1) since the 2019-20 Seawolves started 12-1.
  • The Seawolves ranked tenth in last week’s College Insider Mid Major Top 25.
  • Josie Larkins, India Pagan, Leighah-Amori Wool, Ellyn Stoll and Janee’a Summers are the league’s active 1,000-point scorers.

Fans will once again be able to watch every #AEHoops game this season regardless of where they live! The majority games will air on The AE on ESPN, either ESPN+ or ESPN3, in the United States. Games will also be available internationally on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

The women’s #AEHoops preseason poll was announced on Oct. 20.
 
2021-22 Weekly Award Winners (Jan. 31)
Player of the Week
Earlette Scott, Stony Brook – Sr., Guard, Brooklyn, N.Y.
  • Led Stony Brook to a 2-0 week behind 16.0 points per game.
  • Scott averaged 4.5 rebounds and shot 4-for-7 from long range in two games.
  • With the Seawolves down one after halftime against UNH, Scott scored 10 of her 15 points in the final 20 minutes.
  • This is her first career Player of the Week honor and she is the third Seawolf to earn the award this season.
 
Rookie of the Week
Genevieve Coleman, Binghamton – Fr., Forward, Owego, N.Y.
  • Averaged 4.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in two games.
  • Helped the Bearcats to their first league win of the season Saturday against UMBC.
  • This is her league-high third Rookie of the Week honor.
