BOSTON – Conference play began with a bang for NJIT as the Highlanders beat each of the top-two teams in the preseason poll to get off to a 2-0 start.
The Highlanders became just the second team all season to beat Stony Brook, holding the Seawolves to a season-low 49 points before beating Maine in overtime on Sunday.

- With seven wins already this season, the Highlanders have their most wins since the 2016-17 season.
- The Black Bears opened conference play with a comeback win at Vermont, serving the Catamounts just their second home loss of the season.
- Maine trailed by eight in the fourth quarter but finished the game on a 15-1 run.
- The Seawolves rebounded on Sunday with an emphatic 77-39 win over Hartford, improving to 6-0 at Island Federal Arena.
- UAlbany won for the fourth consecutive time and sixth time in seven tries with a non-conference win over Union last Tuesday.
- The Great Danes remain unbeaten at home (6-0).
- Stony Brook became the first #AEHoops program to beat two Power-5 teams in the same season since Maine beat LSU and Clemson in 2015-16.
- The Seawolves have the best non-conference record (9-1) since the 2019-20 Seawolves started 12-1.
- The Seawolves ranked seventh in last week’s College Insider Mid Major Top 25.

Player of the Week
Kenna Squier, NJIT – Jr., Guard, Branchville, N.J.
- Led the Highlanders to 2-0 start to league play with 17.5 points per game.
- Squier dropped a career-high 24 points while grabbing eight rebounds in the overtime win over Maine.
- Also averaged 3.5 steals per game.
- This is her first career Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Trinity Williams, NJIT – Fr., Forward, Upper Eddy Black, Pa.
- Scored 10 points in 13 minutes off the bench in conference-opening win over Stony Brook.
- Williams recorded a career-high three blocks.
- She made five of her six shots and also grabbed four rebounds.
- This is her first Rookie of the Week honor.
