Reigning Champion Vermont Tabbed 2022 #AEMLAX Favorites

BOSTON – Fresh off winning its first-ever America East men’s lacrosse title in 2021, Vermont is the preseason favorite to top the standings in 2022.

The Catamounts, who are ranked 17th in the Inside Lacrosse Division I Men’s Preseason Poll. were a unanimous selection to top the #AEMLAX standings and earned the maximum 36 points.

Preseason All-Americans Tommy Burke (Vermont) and Thomas McConvey (Vermont) headline the league’s top returnees in addition to reigning #AEMLAX Offensive Player and Rookie of the Year Dylan Pallonetti (Stony Brook) and Defensive Player of the Year Teddy Dolan (Binghamton).

NJIT is the first team to open play on Saturday Feb. 5 vs. Delaware while #17 Vermont plays against #3 Duke on Sunday, Feb. 6. Conference play begins on March 19 as teams are scheduled to play a total of six league games, facing each league opponent once. Hartford will not field a team in 2022. Full 2022 #AEMLAX Schedule
 
The top four teams in the conference standings will qualify for the America East Men’s Lacrosse Championship, which will be held at tournament's No. 1 seed. The semifinals take place on May 5 and the championship tilt on May 7. The winner will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, where #AEMLAX teams have combined to win 15 games all time, including UAlbany advancing to Championship Weekend in 2018.

Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEMLAX this season. Several games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.
