UMass Lowell, Vermont Post 3-0 Weeks, Net #AEHoops Awards

BOSTON – Stony Brook, UMass Lowell and Vermont all have active win streaks of three or more games after successful weeks on the court.
 
#AEHoops Notes
  • The Seawolves (6-1) have won six in a row since dropping the conference opener.
  • UVM (5-2) defeated NJIT then swept Hartford last weekend and has won four consecutive games by at least 17 points.
  • The Catamounts are 8-2 at home this season and host Stony Brook Wednesday night.
  • The River Hawks (3-1) topped UMBC, UNH and Maine last week after dropping their #AEHoops opener.
  • NJIT (5-2) picked up its fifth #AEHoops win on Saturday against Binghamton.
  • UNH guard Héléna Delaruelle hit a game-winning shot to beat the buzzer against Hartford and was the number-two play on SportsCenter’s Top-10.
  • UAlbany’s defense is allowing just 48.8 points per game, which ranks third in the country.
  • The Great Danes are a perfect 8-0 in their home building.
  • Stony Brook became the first #AEHoops program to beat two Power-5 teams in the same season since Maine beat LSU and Clemson in 2015-16.
  • The Seawolves have the best non-conference record (9-1) since the 2019-20 Seawolves started 12-1.
  • The Seawolves ranked tenth in last week’s College Insider Mid Major Top 25.
  • Josie Larkins, India Pagan, Ellyn Stoll and Janee’a Summers are the league’s active 1,000-point scorers.

Fans will once again be able to watch every #AEHoops game this season regardless of where they live! The majority games will air on The AE on ESPN, either ESPN+ or ESPN3, in the United States. Games will also be available internationally on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

The women’s #AEHoops preseason poll was announced on Oct. 20.
 
2021-22 Weekly Award Winners (Jan. 24)
Player of the Week
Emma Utterback, Vermont – Jr., Guard, Greenwood, Ind.
  • Averaged 16.7 points and 4.3 assists in 3-0 week for UVM.
  • Utterback scored a game-high 21 points in Friday’s win over Hartford.
  • Her stat line Sunday read 16 points, six rebounds and six assists.
  • This is Utterback’s second Player of the Week honor of the season.
 
Rookie of the Week
Ivory Finley, UMass Lowell – Fr., Guard, Minneapolis, Minn.
  • Averaged 12.0 points per game in 3-0 week for the River Hawks.
  • Started all three games and shot 58 percent last week.
  • Finley scored career-high 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the win over UNH - her fourth career start.
  • This is her first career #AEHoops honor.
