BOSTON – The 2021 volleyball season began last week as six of seven #AEVB programs returned to the hardwood.
UAlbany, New Hampshire and Binghamton all won matches as all six teams started their seasons on the road. 23 matches lie ahead this week including home openers for three programs.
The preseason poll was released on Aug. 12.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEVB this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEVB Weekly Award Winners – Aug. 31
Player & Rookie of the Week
Camryn Luginbuhl, Hartford – Fr., Outside Hitter, Tolland, Conn.
- Led the league with 4.45 points per set and 3.90 kills per set on opening weekend.
- Also averaged 3.70 digs per set.
- This is her first career weekly honor.
Setter of the Week
Torri Henry, Stony Brook – So., Setter, Belton, Md.
- League-leading 8.77 asists per set in Stony Brook’s first three matches.
- This is Henry’s third career Setter of the Week award.
Defensive Specialist of the Week
Loren Teter, UMBC – Gr., Libero, Redondo Beach, Calif.
- 4.75 digs per set were tops among defensive specialists.
- This is the second Defensive Specialist of the Week nod of Teter’s career.
