BOSTON – Week two of #AEWSOC play saw four teams post unbeaten weeks with Binghamton, Maine, UMBC and Stony Brook going unbeaten.
The Bearcats posted a 3-1 win over Bryant on Thursday before tying Temple on Saturday. The Black Bears beat Bryant as well and tied Merrimack to get off to a 2-0-1 start, their best since 2016. The Retrievers are the other unbeaten team remaining at 1-0-1 after tying Towson on Sunday. Stony Brook beat Columbia, 1-0, Sunday after deadlocking LIU earlier in the week.
Eighteen more non-conference games take place this week.
The preseason poll was announced on August 9.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEWSOC this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

Maya Anand, Binghamton – Jr., Forward, Leesburg, Va.
- Scored two goals to lead Binghamton to a 1-0-1 week.
- Had a pair of tallies in the Bearcats’ 3-1 victory over Bryant on Sunday.
- This is Anand’s first career Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Emerson Richmond Burke, Stony Brook – Jr., GK, Seattle, Wash.
- Stopped all seven shots she faced in recording pair of shutouts last week.
- This is her first career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Ioanna Papatheodorou, UMass Lowell – Fr., Forward, Nea Erithraia, Greece
- Scored UMass Lowell’s lone goal in a 1-1 tie vs. perennially powerhouse Boston U. on Monday.
- This is her first career Rookie of the Week award.
