3 #AEMSOC Stars Named to Hermann Trophy Watch List

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – With the 2021 season kicking off today, three America East men’ soccer standouts have been named to the Hermann Trophy Preseason Watch List. UNH’s Bridger Hansen and Vermont’s Noah Egan and Alex Nagy were among the 44 men’s players named to the lists.

The Hermann MAC Trophy is the most prestigious award in college soccer, bestowed annually to the nation’s NCAA Division I soccer player of the year.

Hansen returns for another year with the Wildcats after earning first-team All-America and first-team All-America East honors last season while pacing one of the top defensive teams in the nation.

Nagy also earned All-America recognition last season, snagging third-team honors as well as first-team All-Conference and America East All-Championship recognition.

Egan was a first-team All-America East defender for the Catamounts as a sophomore and backstopped UVM’s elite defense.

Fifteen players are named Hermann Trophy semifinalists on Nov. 30 following United Soccer Coaches Division I All-America voting after the regular season. A final round of voting names three finalists on Dec. 15. The 2021 winner is announced on Jan. 7, 2022, in a ceremony at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo.
