Finalists Named for America East Man & Woman of the Year Awards

BOSTON – The stage is set for two of conference’s most prestigious honors to be handed out next week as the six finalists for the 2020-21America East Man & Woman of the Year Awards were announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The America East Man and Woman of the Year awards recognize the conference's senior male and female student-athlete who has best distinguished himself and herself throughout their collegiate career in the areas of academic achievement, athletic excellence, service and leadership. 
 
The three men’s finalists were chosen from 10 men’s nominees, including UAlbany’s Cameron Avery, UMBC’s Andrew Haberman and UAlbany’s Adrian Mitchell.

Stony Brook’s Chelsie DePonte, UMBC’s Catherine Evans and Hartford’s Elizabeth Lodge were the three finalists selected from the 11 women's nominees.

One man and one woman from the group of finalists will be chosen as the 2021 America East Man and Woman of the Year. The 21 nominees for the America East Man and Woman of the Year awards were announced on June 10.

To be nominated, student-athletes must have completed intercollegiate eligibility in their primary sport by the end of the 2021 spring season or received their undergraduate degree prior to the conclusion of the summer 2021 term and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.500 (4.000 scale). 

America East began honoring a Woman of the Year in 2006 and introduced the Man of the Year award in 2015. All-Time America East Man & Woman of the Year Award Listing
