STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook advanced to its third consecutive #AEBASE championship game on Saturday and sixth in the past seven tournaments. The Seawolves defeated Maine, 15-9, in an elimination game to avenge their first loss of the championship.
That set up an ensuing championship matchup between the defending champs and red-hot NJIT Highlanders. The Highlanders entered the game having won nine-straight games, including two in the postseason to get to the final round. The sixth game of the championship was halted due to rain in the third inning with one out and the bases loaded for the Seawolves.
The Highlanders reached the title game in their debut season and are seeking their first NCAA appearance. The Seawolves are in search of a second-straight #AEBASE championship and conference-best seventh overall.
