Final #AEBASE Weekly Awards Announced

BOSTON – The final weekend of the #AEBASE regular season concluded but not without drama to determine the championship field. Maine (16-17) split its series with UAlbany (20-18), securing two must-wins on Saturday and getting help to clinch the final spot in Division A.

The Great Danes locked up Division A with their wins on Friday. After earning the right to host the championship as regular-season champs, Stony Brook (25-10) took three of four from Binghamton. NJIT (23-17) enters postseason play as the hottest team in the league, winning its last seven games. The postseason begins on Thursday with cross-divisional matchups beginning at 11 a.m. Visit Championship Central for links to watch live on ESPN+ and more information.

Maine ace Nicholas Sinacola set a new single-season record with 128 strikeouts, breaking major-leaguer and former Seawolf Nick Tropeano’s previous mark set in 2011. The junior right-hander did so in 72.1 innings.
