A dramatic final day of the #AEBASE regular season resulted in Maine clinching the fourth and final championship bid. Trailing 5-3 entering the final inning, the Black Bears were down to their last strike when sophomore Connor Goodman delivered a two-run walk-off single to win the first of two must-wins on Saturday.
The defending #AEBASE champion Stony Brook Seawolves won their second consecutive regular-season title and will host the championship for the first time since 2012. UAlbany won Division A while NJIT clinched the second postseason bid from Division B.
The double elimination tournament will feature four teams for the first time since 2015. B#1 Stony Brook and A#2 Maine will open championship play on Thursday, May 27 with an 11 a.m. first pitch. A#1 UAlbany will face B#2 NJIT – which enters the postseason on a seven-game win streak – in the second game at 2:30 p.m. The winners of the opening games will face off in the second of two games on Friday with the winner of that game advancing to the Saturday afternoon championship game. All games will be broadcast on ESPN3 or ESPN+.
