BOSTON – Having maintained a single-digit conference loss total, Stony Brook clinched the #AEBASE regular-season title for the second consecutive full season. The Seawolves will host the championship next week.
Three championship bids remain on the line entering the final week of the regular season. Stony Brook (22-9) has won Division B. Either NJIT (19-17) or Binghamton (15-17) can clinch the second berth in the division. A log-jammed Division A features crucial matchups this weekend with the top-two teams playing in the championship. UAlbany (18-16) will travel to Maine (14-15) while UMass Lowell (16-18) will host Hartford (16-18).
Fans will once again be able to watch a number of #AEBASE games this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEBASE Weekly Award Winners – May 17
Player of the Week
Brad Malm, UAlbany – Jr., Infielder, Medford, N.Y.
- Slashed .769/.778/1.462 in four games against UMass Lowell.
- Malm drove in seven runs and also scored three.
- He went 6-for-6 in Saturday’s doubleheader with four of his six doubles on the week.
- This is his second career Player of the Week honor, receiving both this season.
Pitcher of the Week
Alex McKenney, Maine – Jr., Right-Handed Pitcher, Hampden, Maine
- Tossed six shutout innings Saturday morning.
- McKenney allowed just one hit as Maine won its first of three critical games against Hartford.
- He struck out six and walked three.
- This is his second Pitcher of the Week award this season
Rookie of the Week
Cole Fleming, NJIT – Fr., Designated Hitter, Medford, N.J.
- Hit .500 (5-for-10) in three games as NJIT took three of four from Binghamton.
- Fleming reached base 50 percent of the time, scoring four runs.
- He drove in three in the doubleheader on Sunday.
- This is his first career #AEBASE award.
