BOSTON – In its first scored meet of the season UMBC swept VMI, winning all but three of 32 events. Last weekend marked the final competition for the majority of #AESD teams before America East Diving Championships on April 17 and 18 at Binghamton.
The Bearcats enter championship season unbeaten after completing a 5-0 regular season with a sweep of St. Bonaventure. New Hampshire defeated Vermont in the final regular season meet for both teams. NJIT will be the lone team in action this weekend as the Highlanders take on Johns Hopkins.

Female Swimmer of the Week
Miranda Bacon, New Hampshire – Sr., Breaststroke, Scotia, N.Y.
- Earned two victories to help UNH to a 190-109 win over Vermont.
- Her time of 2:21.72 in the 200 breast set a pool record.
- Bacon is the third different Wildcat to earn Female Swimmer of the Week honors this season.
Male Swimmer of the Week
Niklas Weigelt, UMBC – So., Freestyle, Clayton, Calif.
- Won all three freestyle swims at VMI in addition to anchoring the winning 200 medley relay.
- Weigelt won the 50 free in 21.73, the 100 free in 47.40 and wore gold in the 200 free with his time of 1:43.38.
- This is his first career Swimmer of the Week award.
Female Diver of the Week
Sophia Howard, Binghamton – Sr., Diver, Endwell, N.Y.
- Swept the diving events to help Binghamton defeat St. Bonaventure 179-121.
- Scored 250.57 in the 1-meter and 240.60 in the 3-meter.
- This is her second Diver of the Week nod in three weeks.
Male Diver of the Week
Will Henrickson, UMBC – So., Diver, Ellicott City, Md.
- Took gold in both diving events to help UMBC defeat VMI.
- Amassed 223.10 points in the 1-meter and had a winning score of 219.80 in the 3-meter.
- This is Henrickson’s first career Diver of the Week award.
