More Close Action in Week #6 of #AEFH

BOSTON – Two double overtime thrillers highlighted last weekend’s field hockey action. UAlbany scored in the second overtime against UMass Lowell and Cal followed with a double-overtime win later on Saturday.
 
No. 18 Stanford (3-0) remained unbeaten in conference play with a win over UC Davis last Monday for a fourth-straight victory. Monmouth (5-1) follows in the standings after hanging on to a 3-2 win against Maine at home. Vermont and UAlbany will start this week’s action on Thursday at 2 p.m. on AETV.
 
 
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEFH this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEFH Weekly Award Winners – April 6
Offensive Player of the Week
Annick van Lange, Monmouth – Jr., Forward, Sint-Job, Belgium
  • Scored a pair of goals in Monmouth’s 3-2 win over Maine.
  • van Lange’s second goal made it 3-0 and was eventually the difference.
  • This is her third career Offensive Player of the Week award and first this season.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Eleonore Boekhorst, UMass Lowell – Fr., Goalkeeper, Bilthoven, Netherlands
  • Career-high 15 saves while allowing a lone goal in UMass Lowell’s win against Vermont.
  • Boekhorst totaled 21 saves in a 1-1 week for the River Hawks and ranks second in Division I in saves per game with over seven.
  • This is her second Defensive Player of the Week honor and third weekly award overall.
 
Rookie of the Week
Lara Mortz, UAlbany – Fr., Midfielder, Hamburg, Germany
  • Scored the game-winning goal in double overtime against UMass Lowell.
  • Mortz contributed to both goals for the Great Danes, assisting on the opening score of the game.
  • This is her first career #AEFH honor.
