Final #AETF Awards Bestowed Ahead of Saturday's Championships

BOSTON – The majority of #AETF programs competed during the final week before championship season in track and field. New Hampshire swept the UNH Pre-Conference Meet which hosted Maine, UMass Lowell, Hartford and Vermont.
 
Teams will travel to Massachusetts this weekend with competition scheduled to start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 1. UAlbany enters as reigning champs after sweeping the 2019 conference meet at home.

#AETF Outdoor Weekly Awards – April 28
Female Track Performer of the Week
Asia Jinks, UAlbany – Sr., Sprints/Hurdles, Hempstead, N.Y.
  • Swept the hurdles events at West Point.
  • Jinks won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.38 – a conference best.
  • This is her second Performer of the Week award this season.
 
Male Track Performer of the Week
Patrick Abel, Stony Brook – So., Middle Distance, Brooklyn, N.Y.
  • Won the 400m dash at Wolfie Invitational.
  • Abel finished in 48.28 which is the second-fastest time in the league this season.
  • This is his first career #AETF weekly honor.
 
Female Field Performer of the Week
Alyssa Colbert, New Hampshire – Gr., Throws, Smithfield, R.I.
  • Threw a new career-best in the discus throw at home meet.
  • Colbert leads the conference with her 161’5” mark from last weekend.
  • This is her first Performer of the Week nod this season.
 
Male Field Performer of the Week
Travis Robinson, UAlbany – Fr., Throws, Kingston, Jamaica
  • Had a pair of top-three finishes at West Point.
  • Robinson hurled the discus a conference-best 175’5” to finish second place.
  • This is his first career #AETF award.
