Monmouth, Maine Share #AEFH Regular Season Crown; Top-Four Teams Set for Championship

The Spring 2021 America East Field Hockey Championship begins Thursday and will be played at Monmouth University for the second-straight year. Monmouth and Maine shared the regular-season title and the Hawks earned the right to host for the second time in their two-year tenure in the league.
 
The top-seeded Hawks will take on #4 UMass Lowell in the opening game Wednesday at 12 p.m. Eastern. The River Hawks are in the postseason for the first time since 2017 and third time since joining the league. Maine earned a top-two seed for the sixth consecutive season and will play #3 Stanford in the second semifinal Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Eastern. The Cardinal won a must-win game against UAlbany in overtime Sunday to clinch the final spot in the postseason.
 
The winners will play for the #AEFH championship and NCAA automatic bid Saturday, April 24 at 12 p.m.
