VESTAL, N.Y. – Binghamton made a splash on the opening day of the 2021 Diving Championship in its own pool. The women’s three-meter diving and men’s one-meter diving kicked off competition on the first day.
The Bearcats swept the men’s one-meter dives with senior David Walters wearing gold backed by a total score of 272.20. Erik Temple and Ryan Cohn joined their teammate on the podium. Senior Sophia Howard registered the top score in the women’s dive at 265.10, over 20 points ahead of the field. Maine junior PhilAnn Dixon placed second and Binghamton freshman Lindsey Wiessman took third.
The diving championship will conclude on Sunday with the men’s three-meter and the women’s one-meter dives. The event will be streamed live on AmericaEast.tv.
