UMBC Set For NCAA Volleyball Championship

OMAHA, Neb. – First-time America East volleyball champion UMBC is preparing to play in the NCAA Volleyball Championship for the first time this century. The Retrievers are just 11 days removed from a comeback, five-set victory in the Spring 2021 #AEVB Championship at UAlbany.
 
Watching the selection show on Easter Sunday, the Retrievers drew No. 20 Pepperdine in the opening match. The first serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday, April 14. The match can be viewed live on ESPN3.
 
It is the first postseason appearance for UMBC volleyball since 1998 and third overall. The Retrievers look to continue their historic season with their first NCAA win on Wednesday.
 
Two outstanding freshmen in #AEVB Setter of the Year Aysia Miller and Rookie of the Year Darina Kumanova lead the way for the America East champs.
