Monmouth Clinches #AEFH Spot Entering Final Week of Regular Season

BOSTON – Monmouth became the first team to clinch a berth in the Spring 2021 #AEFH Championship last weekend with a 5-1 win over New Hampshire.
 
No. 16 Stanford won three games to remain unbeaten and improve to 5-0 in league play entering the final week of the regular season. UAlbany, Maine and UMass Lowell also earned wins and are in the hunt for postseason bids. The top-four teams in the standings qualify for the championship which will be held by the top seed on the east coast next week.
 
 
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEFH this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEFH Weekly Award Winners – April 13
Offensive Player of the Week
Corinne Zanolli, Stanford – Sr., Attack, Newtown Square, Pa.
  • Zanolli showed out for a monster week with 16 points on seven goals and two assists.
  • The lethal scorer potted four goals and added an assist against UC Davis.
  • This is her second Offensive Player of the Week award this season and ninth of her career.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Eleonore Boekhorst, UMass Lowell – Fr., Goalkeeper, Bilthoven, Netherlands
  • Logged her league-high fourth shutout of the year to help UMass Lowell top New Hampshire.
  • Boekhorst saved three shots in a game that exceeded 60 minutes.
  • This is her second consecutive Defensive Player of the Week honor and fourth overall.
 
Rookie of the Week
Mirthe Gans, UMass Lowell – Fr., Forward, Tiel, Netherlands
  • Scored the game-winning goal in overtime against UNH.
  • Gans’s tally was the lone goal of the contest.
  • This is her second #AEFH honor.
