Richards Nearly Tops National Leaderboard to Highlight #AETF Weekly Honors

BOSTON – Binghamton, Hartford, UMass Lowell and Vermont began competing in the outdoor track and field season last weekend. The River Hawks went up to Burlington and swept the Catamounts in a dual meet.
 
New Hampshire will host Maine, UMass Lowell and Vermont in a quad meet this Saturday at 11 a.m.

Female Track Performer of the Week
Kaley Richards, UMass Lowell – Gr., Distance, Lowell, Mass.
  • Ran the second-fastest 1500m time in DI this season.
  • Richards ran a 4:16.56 at Raleigh Relays, just 16 one-hundredths shy of the top time.
  • This is the first time Richards has earned Performer of the Week honors during outdoor season.
 
Male Track Performer of the Week
Cameron Avery, Stony Brook – Gr., Distance, Christchurch, New Zealand
  • Ran the 10K in 29:14.27 at Raleigh Relays.
  • Avery’s time currently ranks 13th in DI this season.
  • He is the second consecutive Seawolf to earn the weekly honor.
 
Female Field Performer of the Week
Marina Cannon, Vermont – Sr., Pole Vault, Littleton, Colo.
  • Won the pole vault against UMass Lowell.
  • Her 3.50m clearance ranks atop the conference leaderboard.
  • This is her first outdoor Performer of the Week award.
 
Male Field Performer of the Week
Terrel Davis, Hartford – Gr., Jumps, Beacon, N.Y.
  • Returned to competition with a splash in the long jump and triple jump at Texas Relays.
  • Davis’s leap of 7.58m in the long jump ranks 21st nationally. He flew 15.21m in the triple.
  • This is the second weekly nod of his outdoor career.
