UMass Lowell, Stony Brook Stay Unbeaten in #AEWSOC Play

BOSTON – UMass Lowell and Stony Brook stayed unbeaten in #AEWSOC play as just two weeks remain in the 2021 spring season. Both teams can lock up spots in the #AEWSOC championship with a win or tie this weekend. Binghamton and UMBC also earned wins last week.
 
The River Hawks sit atop Division A with at 3-0-0 (1.000 points percentage) while UNH (2-2-0, .500), Vermont (1-2-0, .333) and Maine (0.83) follow. In Division B, Stony Brook leads the group at 4-0-0 (1.000) with Binghamton (2-1-0, .667), UAlbany (2-2-0, .500), UMBC (1-2-0, .333) and NJIT (0-3-1, .083) following.
 
The teams with the top two points percentages in each group will qualify for the spring 2021 #AEWSOC Championship to be played at the top overall seed on April 15-17.

Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEWSOC this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEWSOC Weekly Award Winners – March 30
Offensive Player of the Week
Alyssa Francese, Stony Brook – Sr., Forward, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.
  • Registered a goal and an assist in Stony Brook’s 3-1 win over Maine.
  • This is Francese’s first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season and third of her career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Meredith Webber, UMBC – Sr., Defender, Yardley, Pa.
 
  • Led a defense that held NJIT scoreless in 99 minutes of action.
  • Set up game-winning goal in overtime.
  • This is Webber’s first career Defensive Player of the Week.
Rookie of the Week
Meghan McKye, UMBC – Fr., Forward, Toronto, Ont.
  • Scored the game-winning goal in OT to lift UMBC to a 1-0 win over NJIT.
  • This is McKye’s first career Rookie of the Week award.
