BOSTON – Just two weeks remain in the spring 2021 #AEMSOC season and nearly every team remains alive to earn an #AEChamps bid. Five teams earned wins as last week as UAlbany, UMBC, New Hampshire, NJIT and Vermont picked up victories.
UNH, which moved up two spots to #12 in this week's United Soccer Coaches' Top 25, and Vermont sit tied atop Pod A at 3-0-1 (.833 points percentage). Both teams would earn spots in the tournament with a win this weekend. Hartford (2-1-0, .667) can clinch Pod B and a championship berth with a win over Binghamton Saturday and an UAlbany loss or tie. Pod C is the most tightly contested with all three teams (NJIT, UMBC, Stony Brook) still in contention.
Each pod winner and one wild card selection will qualify for the spring 2021 America East Men’s Soccer Championship, to be played April 15 and 17 at the top seed.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEMSOC this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.
