BOSTON – Men’s soccer conference play began with a pair of games last weekend as Binghamton and New Hampshire notched victories. The Bearcats beat UAlbany 2-1 as Noah Luescher netted both scores while the Wildcats upended UMass Lowell 2-1 in overtime on Rory O’Driscoll’s tally.
The preseason poll and season details were announced on Feb. 10.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEMSOC this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

Offensive Player of the Week
Noah Luescher, Binghamton – Sr., Forward, Meisterschwanden, Sweden
- Scored both goals in Binghamton’s 2-1 season-opening win over UAlbany on Friday.
- Netted the game winner off a free kick int eh 66th minute to break a 1-1 tie.
- This is Luescher’s first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Quantrell Jones, UMBC – Jr., Goalkeeper, Baltimore, Md.
- Made a career-high nine saves to earn the shutout win in UMBC’s double-overtime 1-0 victory against George Washington.
- The shutout is the eighth of his career.
- This is Jones’ first Defensive Player of the Week award of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Taylor Calheira, UMBC – Fr., Forward, Towson, Md.
- Scored the game-winning goal in the 106th minute of UMBC’s 1-0 double overtime win over George Washington on Feb. 23.
- This is Calheira’s first career Rookie of the Week honor.
