Men's Lacrosse 3/15/2021 10:30:00 AM Vermont Upends UAlbany to Highlight Second Weekend of #AEMLAX Play BOSTON – Vermont accomplished something it never had done before as a program last weekend as it won at UAlbany for the first time. The Catamounts upended #14 Great Danes, 14-12, behind seven points from Liam Limoges. Elsewhere in #AEMLAX play last weekend, UMass Lowell and Stony Brook earned wins. Vermont cracked the national rankings this week, entering the Inside Lacrosse poll at #18. Both UAlbany and UMBC, which was idle last week, fell out of the poll, but are receiving votes. Four more league contests are scheduled for Saturday, all at noon, with Binghamton hosting UAlbany, Hartford visiting UMBC, Stony Brook heading to UMass Lowell and NJIT entertaining Vermont. Racked up a career-high seven points on four goals and three assists to lead Vermont to a win at #14 UAlbany, the program’s first-ever win on the road over the Great Danes. This is Limoges’ first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season. Defensive Player of the Week Ryan Cornell, Vermont – Sr., Goalkeeper, Darien, Conn. Made a career-high 14 saves in Vermont’s win at #14 UAlbany on Saturday. Had a .538 save percentage and picked up six ground balls. This is Cornell’s first career Defensive Player of the Week award honor. Rookie of the Week Dylan Pallonetti, Stony Brook – Fr., Attack, Stony Brook, N.Y. Had four goals and three assists in games vs. #6/7 Syracuse and NJIT last week. Contributed two scores and as many assists in the Seawolves’ 13-4 win over NJIT.
