BOSTON – Maine, UMBC and Stony Brook all won baseball series last weekend. The Retrievers have now won all five games this season. The Black Bears also have five wins and are 5-3 overall.
Conference play is scheduled to open this Saturday with NJIT hosting UAlbany, Hartford hosting Binghamton, UMBC hosting UMass Lowell and Stony Brook hosting Maine.
Fans will once again be able to watch a number of #AEBASE games this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

Player of the Week
Adam Schwartz, UMBC – So., Outfield, Akron, Pa.
- Led UMBC to a pair of wins over George Mason with seven runs batted in.
- Schwartz hit .444 in the series and also scored four runs.
- He drove in five of UMBC’s 13 runs on Sunday.
- Schwartz is a first time #AEBASE Player of the Week.
Pitcher of the Week
Nicholas Sinacola, Maine – Jr., Right-Handed Pitcher, North Attelboro, Mass.
- Threw seven strong innings to guide the Black Bears to a win over Wagner on Saturday.
- Sinacola struck out 12, the most by an #AEBASE pitcher this season.
- Allowed just one run on two hits.
- This is his first career Pitcher of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Jake Rainess, Maine – Fr., Utility, Baltimore, Md.
- Drove in seven runs for Maine, all coming on two blasts.
- The freshman’s grand slam on Saturday broke a tie and gave Maine a 5-1 win.
- Rainess slugged 1.111 and compiled a 1.573 OPS in the three game series.
- This is his first ever #AEBASE weekly award.
