#AEWSOC Season Off and Running

BOSTON – Six of the 10 #AEWSOC programs have kicked off their 2021 spring seasons and a pair have earned victories thus far. New Hampshire and NJIT came away with victories in their season openers. Six more non-league games are scheduled for this week before league play is slated to begin on March 7. The preseason poll and season details were announced on Feb. 10.
 
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEWSOC this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEWSOC Weekly Award Winners – Feb. 23
Offensive Player & Rookie of the Week
Corbin Reifschneider, NJIT – Fr., Forward, Raleigh, N.C.
  • Scored two goals in her collegiate debut, 3-1 victory over Drexel.
  • This is Reifschneider’s first career Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Cat Sheppard, New Hampshire – Jr., Goalkeeper, Nesconset, N.Y.
  • Made three saves in UNH’s 1-0 win over Northeastern on Feb. 14.
  • The shutout is the sixth of her career.
  • This is Sheppard’s second career Defensive Player of the Week award (9/16/19).
