BOSTON – The 2021 #AEMLAX season is underway! Stony Brook, the preseason favorite in the conference, is off to a 2-0 start after posting wins vs. Sacred Heart and Bryant.
Two #AEMLAX teams are nationally ranked, as Stony Brook rose four spots in the Inside Lacrosse Poll to #16 and cracked the USILA rankings at #17. UAlbany, which opens its season on Saturday, is #20 in the IL poll.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEMLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEMLAX Weekly Award Winners – Feb. 22
Offensive Player of the Week
Cory VanGinhoven, Stony Brook – Gr., Attack, Fort Mill, N.C.
- Totaled 11 points on six goals and five assists to help Stony Brook get off to a 2-0 start.
- Had three goals and four helpers in a win over Sacred Heart on Feb. 13.
- Scored three more times and had one assist in a win over Bryant on Saturday.
- This is VanGinhoven’s first career Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Anthony Palma, Stony Brook – Jr., Goalkeeper, East Islip, N.Y.
- Went 2-0 with a 7.82 GAA and .634 save percentage to start the season.
- Made a career-high 16 saves in Saturday’s 14-8 win over Bryant holding the Bulldogs scoreless for the final 19:11.
- Had 10 saves in the win over Sacred Heart on Feb. 13.
- Rack up a .739 save percentage.
- This is Palma’s first career Defensive Player of the Week award.
Rookie of the Week
Dylan Pallonetti, Stony Brook – Fr., Attack, Stony Brook, N.Y.
- Had six goals in his collegiate debut vs. Sacred Heart, the most ever by a Seawolf in his first career game.
- Totaled seven goals and two assists in Stony Brook’s two wins.
- This is Pallonetti’s first career Rookie of the Week honor.
