BOSTON – Stony Brook completed one of the most impressive non-conference performances for an America East program this decade, improving to 9-1 after Sunday’s win over Washington State.
#AEHoops Notes
- The Seawolves beat a Power-5 team for the second time this season and hold the best record entering conference play since the 2019-20 Seawolves started 12-1.
- An America East team has not defeated two Power-5 teams in the same season since Maine beat LSU and Clemson in 2015-16.
- The Seawolves ranked seventh in last week’s College Insider Mid Major Top 25 and are unbeaten at home.
- The Black Bears erased a 19-point deficit against Dartmouth Sunday for their first home win of the season.
- UAlbany remained unbeaten at home, improving to 4-0 at SEFCU Arena with a win over Canisius Wednesday.
- The Great Danes have won four of their last five games heading into their non-conference finale against CCSU on Tuesday.
- Vermont has won three of four and will finish the non-conference slate Tuesday at Bryant.
- Eight non-conference games are scheduled for this week before the holiday. League play begins next Thursday, December 30.

Player of the Week
Anne Simon, Maine – Jr., Guard, Sandweiler, Luxembourg
- Recorded her second double-double of the season in Sunday’s comeback win over Dartmouth.
- Scored 15 of her 21 points in the second half.
- Simon grabbed 11 rebounds and notched six steals.
- This is the second Player of the Week honor this season for Simon and third of her career.
Rookie of the Week
Freja Weth, UAlbany – Fr., Guard, Aidrid, Sweden
- Contributed 11 points in UAlbany’s win over Canisius.
- Shot 71 percent, making five of her seven attempts.
- Werth also dished out four assists.
- This is her first career weekly honor.
