UNH Pockets Two #AETF Weekly Awards

BOSTON – Track and field meets took place last weekend for the final time until mid-January with a trio of America East programs competing at Dartmouth. Maine and Vermont men tied for first place at the quad meet with 155 points.
 
Here are the 2021-22 #AETF week #2 awards:
 
#AETF Weekly Award Winners – Dec. 14
Female Track Performer of the Week
Nicole Yeomans, New Hampshire – Sr., Distance, Foxborough, Mass.
  • Won the mile with the third-fastest time in the nation at Dartmouth.
  • Yeomans ran a 4:54.57 which is more than ten seconds faster than any #AETF competitor this season.
 
Male Track Performer of the Week
Jake Bair, Vermont – Jr., Sprints, Buffalo, N.Y.
  • Won the 200m and 400m at Dartmouth which led UVM to a first-place finish.
  • Bair’s adjusted time of 22.17 in the 200m leads the conference.
 
Female Field Performer of the Week
Sydney Garrison, Hartford – So., High Jump, Southington, Conn.
  • Claimed a spot on the podium in the high jump at the Yale Season Opener.
  • Garrison cleared 5’3” on her third attempt which only three competitors were able to surmount.
 
Male Field Performer of the Week
Kevin McGrath, New Hampshire – Sr., High Jump, Hopkinton, N.H.
  • Won the high jump at Dartmouth in impressive fashion.
  • McGrath’s clearance of 6’8.75” ranks first in the conference and 32nd in Division l.

Dec. 7 – Female Track: Caitlyn Bobb, UMBC; Male Track: Yourry Tapande-Ngombe, UAlbany; Female Field: Leann Nicholas, UAlbany; Male Field: Marcrene Jeannot, Binghamton
Dec. 13 – Female Track: Nicole Yeomans, UNH; Male Track: Jake Bair, UVM; Female Field: Sydney Garrison, Hartford; Male Field: Kevin McGrath, UNH
