BOSTON – Stony Brook has won seven consecutive games to start the 2021-22 season, joining Binghamton as the only teams in the last eight years to start a season 7-0 or better. Binghamton started the 2019-20 season 9-0.
Looking Back
- The Seawolves toppled previously unbeaten Columbia 91-82 on Tuesday, scoring 90 points for the first time since 2007.
- NJIT got back in the win column Saturday against St. Peter’s - the Highlanders’ fourth win in five games.
- Vermont dominated Brown 79-46 in the TD Bank Classic on Saturday.
- UMass Lowell and New Hampshire also picked up wins last week.
Looking Ahead
- A seven-game slate kicks off the week as the calendar flips to December on Wednesday.
- Six of those teams will be on the road.
- The Seawolves begin their week on the road at Fordham on Thursday.
- Maine hosts CAA opponent Drexel on Saturday.
- UMass Lowell battles in-state rival and A-10 opponent UMass on Sunday.

Player of the Week
Gigi Gonzalez, Stony Brook – Jr., Guard, Miramar, Fla.
- Averaged 19.0 points per game, shooting 50 percent from deep to help the Seawolves to two wins.
- Gonzalez scored 21 points and added four assists in the win over Columbia.
- She scored 17 and notched three steals against St. Francis Brooklyn.
- This is her first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Ella Wanzer, Binghamton – Fr., Guard, Buffalo, N.Y.
- Scored 15 points in win over Mansfield.
- Wanzer shot 71 percent from the floor and sunk both of her three-point attempts.
- She also grabbed five rebounds.
- This is her first weekly honor.
