BOSTON – UMass Lowell will host the Northeast Regional for the first time on Friday, Nov. 12, at Franklin Park.
The River Hawks swept the America East Cross Country Championships last month, becoming the first team in nearly three decades to sweep consecutive conference meets. Three River Hawks competed in NCAA Cross Country Championships last spring and seven #AEXC runners have raced on the national stage in the past two seasons.
Two-time America East individual champion Emily Mackay will look to punch a ticket to NCAAs for the second time this calendar year. The Binghamton senior set a record in the America East 5K with a 16:27.1 time last month.
Mackay will run in the women’s regional Friday at 11 a.m. Fellow Bearcat and #AEXC champion Dan Schaffer will headline in the men’s 10K at noon.
The NCAA Selection Show is set for Saturday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com. The 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships will take place Satruday, Nov. 20 in Tallahassee, Fla.
