Women's Soccer 10/4/2021 10:59:35 AM UMass Lowell, Binghamton, Vermont #AEWSOC Post Unbeaten Weeks BOSTON – The 2021 #AEWSOC league slate is nearly through halfway point and UMass Lowell is the lone unbeaten team remaining. The 2020-21 regular-season champions won twice last week to improve to 4-0-0. Binghamton and Vermont each also posted two wins last week. Five more league contests take place this week with conference games set for Sunday, Oct. 10. Check out the #AEWSOC schedule for complete information. The top six teams in the conference standings based on points percentage will be qualify for the 2021 America East women’s soccer championship. Last week, UMass Lowell’s Dunja Mostarac was named one of 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award last week. The reigning America East Defender of the Year has earned first team All-Conference honors each of the previous three seasons. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. Scored a goal in each of Vermont’s wins this week, at Maine and against NJIT. Also drew a penalty against NJIT that led to UVM’s second tally. This is Oviedo’s first career Offensive Player of the Week honor. Co- Offensive Player & Rookie of the Week Ioanna Papatheodorou, UMass Lowell – Fr., Forward, New Erithraia, Greece Scored the game-winning goal in each of UMass Lowell’s wins last week. Found the back of the net in the 88th minute of a 2-1 win over UNH on Thursday then scored the lone goal in the 79th minute of Sunday’s 1-0 victory over UMBC. This is her first career Offensive Player of the Week honor and third Rookie of the Week award of the season (9/20, 8/30). Defensive Player of the Week Nicole Scudero, Binghamton – Sr., Back, Hauppauge, N.Y. Led a back line that only allowed 10 total shots and one goal in two games last week. The center back scored a goal in each of Binghamton’s two wins last week.
