Maine to Host #AEFH Championship; van den Brekel Leads UNH to Crucial Win

BOSTON – For the first time the University of Maine will host the America East Field Hockey Championship.

Brooke Sulinski tipped in a shot off a penalty corner to give the Black Bears a thrilling overtime victory over UMass Lowell and subsequent hosting rights. Monmouth (4-2) was the latest team to clinch a postseason bid, joining Maine (6-1), California (5-1) and UAlbany (4-2). The final week of the season will decide which teams secure the final two spots in the championship.

The bracket will be revealed Sunday with the tournament getting underway Thursday, Nov. 4 in Orono. Visit #AEFH Championship Central for more details.

The preseason poll was released Aug. 11.
