BOSTON – UMBC (7-0) continued its strong start to conference play through the halfway mark. The Retrievers have won all seven league matches consecutively while only dropping two sets in that span.
Stony Brook (4-2) has strung together three consecutive victories after wins over NJIT and Binghamton last weekend. UAlbany (4-2) and New Hampshire (3-3) , who each won a match last weekend, round out the top-four in the current standings. The Great Danes and Retrievers will square off on Friday for the first time since meeting in the championship last spring.
The preseason poll was released on Aug. 12.
