Stony Brook Tabbed Women's #AEHoops Favorite

BOSTON – Coming off a season which featured an America East women’s basketball championship and first ever NCAA Tournament appearance, Stony Brook has been named the league favorite. The preseason poll and preseason all-conference team were voted on by the league’s ten head coaches who were not allowed to vote for their own team.

The 2021-22 college basketball season tips off in less than three weeks. The Seawolves received six of a possible nine first-place votes for a total of 78 points and have two preseason all-conference selections. Maine received three votes for the top spot and 74 points while UMass Lowell garnered the remaining first-place vote and is third with 63 points. Vermont rounded out the top four with 54 points.

Denai Bowman, India Pagan, Anne Simon and Denise Solis have all previously earned First-Team All-Conference honors and this year earned spots on the preseason all-conference team.
