BOSTON – Three teams secured their spot in the 2021 #AEFH Championship last weekend. Maine (5-1), California (4-1) and UAlbany (4-1) grabbed three of the six slots based on last weekend’s results.
Cal topped UC Davis on Sunday to punch its ticket which also rewarded the Great Danes, who had beaten UMass Lowell on Friday. Vermont earned a key win on Friday, serving the Black Bears their first loss in conference play and first defeat in eight games. The Catamounts are one of several teams that have a shot at clinching a postseason berth this Friday.
The preseason poll was released Aug. 11.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEFH this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEFH Weekly Award Winners – Oct. 19
Offensive Player of the Week
Aylin Aufenacker, Monmouth – Jr., Forward, Hamburg, Germany
- Notched a career-high five points in Monmouth’s win over UNH.
- Aufenacker scored or assisted on three of the Hawks’ four goals.
- This is her first career Offensive Player of the Week award.
Defensive Player of the Week
Cato Knipping, California – Jr., Goalkeeper, Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Recorded a three-save shutout to send the Golden Bears to the postseason.
- Knipping’s fifth shutout of the season earned her third career Defensive Player of the Week honor and second this season.
Rookie of the Week
Lorane Vanneste, Monmouth – Fr., Back, Antwerp, Belgium
- Vanneste’s three-point game against UNH was the best among freshmen last weekend.
- She assisted on the first goal of the game and later scored to break a tie for good.
- This is her league-best third Rookie of the Week nod this season.
