Stony Brook and Maine Advance to Hercules Tires Women's #AEPlayoffs Championship Game
For the second-straight year but just the fifth time in 10 years, the top-two seeds in the Hercules Tires America East Women’s Basketball Playoffs will meet for a shot at the championship. #1 Stony Brook and #2 Maine both won home semifinal games on Sunday to advance to the title game.
Defending champion Maine defeated UMass Lowell 67-45 in the first game of the day and will play in the title game for the fifth consecutive year and twentieth time overall. Stony Brook followed with a 57-42 victory over Binghamton and will make its first championship game appearance since 2014 and third in program history.

at #2 Maine 67, #3 UMass Lowell 54
- Rookie of the Year Anne Simon led Maine to victory with a game-high with 21 points and eight rebounds.
- Both teams combined for 10 three-pointers from eight different players in the first half, led by a trio from Kelly Fogarty who had 11 points at the break.
- Maddy McVicar hit a buzzer beater to put the Black Bears up 35-27 going into the locker room.
- Kharis Idom, McVicar and Dor Saar all had three fouls in the first half, the latter of whom was limited to eight minutes as a result.
- Idom finished with 15 points and eight rebounds for the River Hawks.
- Maeve Carroll again approached a triple-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.
- The Black Bears forced 20 River Hawks turnovers which they converted into 19 points.
- The River Hawks secured an #AEHoops single-game postseason-record 57 rebounds.

- In opposite fashion of their quarterfinal game, the Seawolves led wire-to-wire to clinch an appearance in the title game.
- Annie Warren led the way again with a game-high 18 points on 8-of-17 shooting.
- After missing the previous three games, India Pagan returned to the floor to contribute 14 points in 25 minutes off the bench.
- Stony Brook outrebounded Binghamton 35-24.
- The Seawolves limited Player of the Year Kai Moon to 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting.
- Moon and Olivia Ramil were the only Bearcats in double figures scoring.
- The Bearcats mustered just seven points from their bench, which was primarily two players as both teams opted for a seven-player rotation.
- It was the third-straight game the Seawolves held their opponent to less than 50 points.
