Vermont's Crymble, UMass Lowell's Lutete Named Academic All-Americans 3/10/2020 3:43:36 PM AUSTIN, Texas – UMass Lowell graduate student Christian Lutete and Vermont senior Hanna Crymble were both named to the 2019-20 Academic All-America Team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). It is the third consecutive year in which an America East basketball student-athlete has been honored with the prestigious distinction. A year removed from UMBC’s Joe Sherburne becoming the first America East student-athlete to be named Academic All-America Team Member of the Year, Lutete was named to the Academic All-America Men's Basketball First Team while Crymble was named an Academic All-America Women's Basketball Third Team honoree. Crymble is the league’s active leading scorer, rebounder and shot-blocker, ranking in the top-three in each this season. She was selected to the All-Conference First Team and named Defensive Player of the Year. The senior was named to the All-Academic Team for the second consecutive year behind her 3.81 GPA in biochemistry. Lutute, also a multi-time America East All-Academic selection, carries a 4.0 GPA in grad school studying peace and conflict studies after graduating with a 3.79 GPA and undergraduate degree in economics. He ranks second in the league in scoring and seventh in rebounding.
