Trio of Top-25 Marks Highlight #AETF Week #6 Awards

BOSTON – A multitude of top performances were set last weekend, most notably at Boston University, the site of the 2020 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships. There was a heavy concentration of #AETF student-athletes competing in the Boston area at the BU Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational, New England Championships and the Harvard Crimson Elite.
 
Here are the conference's week #6 award winners of the 2019-20 season:

#AETF Weekly Award Winners – Feb. 4
Female Track Performer of the Week
Kaley Richards, UMass Lowell – Sr., Distance, Lowell, Mass.
  • Broke a school record in the 1,000-meter run at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational at Boston University.
  • Richards now holds the nation’s sixth-fastest time in the event at 2:45.66.
  • This is her third Performer of the Week award in the last four weeks.
 
Male Track Performer of the Week
Jan Michael Gutierrez Almedina, UAlbany – Sr., Sprints, Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico
  • Placed second in the 200m at the BU Scarlet and White Invite.
  • His 21.06 finish leads the conference and ranks in the national top-20 in the event.
  • This is his first #AETF weekly honor of the season.
 
Female Field Performer of the Week
Ludith Campos, UAlbany – So., Throws, Mount Vernon, N.Y.
  • Competed in the weight throw in two separate meets, the last of which resulted in a second-place finish.
  • Campos’s toss of 58’9.5” is the top mark in the conference.
  • She is the second consecutive Great Dane to win the award.
 
Male Field Performer of the Week
Terrel Davis, Hartford – Sr., Jumps, Beacon, N.Y.
  • Won the long jump at 25’0” at the NEICAAA Indoor Championship.
  • Behind breaking the school record, Davis’s jump also ranks in the top-25 in the country.
  • This is Davis’s second consecutive Performer of the Week nod and third of the season.
