#AEMLAX Teams Post Perfect Saturday; Week #3 Honors Handed Out
BOSTON – It was a perfect Saturday for #AEMLAX teams as the seven squads all posted wins to complete a 7-0 day. Four of those wins came via just a single score with UAlbany, Binghamton, UMass Lowell and Stony Brook all pulling out one-goal wins.
Nine more games take place this week, with seven of those contests taking place at #AEMLAX venues.
Here are the conference's third weekly award winners of the 2020 season:
#AEMLAX Weekly Award Winners – Feb. 24
Offensive Player of the Week
Kevin Winkoff, Binghamton – So., Attack, Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.
- Tallied a career-high seven points in Binghamton’s 11-10 triple overtime win over Lafayette.
- Scored three goals and had four assists, including a helper on the game-winning goal.
- This is Winkoff’s first career Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Tommy Lingner, UMBC – Jr., Goalkeeper, Fort Salonga, N.Y.
- Made a career-high 16 saves while allowing just four goals in UMBC’s 9-4 win over Mount St. Mary’s on Saturday.
- The .800 save percentage was a league best last week.
- This is Lingner’s first Defensive Player of the Week award of the season and fourth of his career.
Rookie of the Week
Conor Foley, UMass Lowell – Fr., Attack, Walpole, Mass.
- Totaled nine points on three goals and six assists in two games last week.
- Notched a career-high seven points on three goals and four assists in the River Hawks’ 16-15 comeback win at Siena on Saturday.
- This is Foley’s second Rookie of the Week honor of the season (2/10).
